Fun things to do in Orlando while attending the ICMI Conference

Every year ICMI holds several conferences throughout the United States in various locations. From May fourth until the seventh, the conference will be held at Walt Disney World, in the Dolphin Resort. So what better way to spend your time than being at the most magical place on earth?  Disney world doesn't’t need any exuberant introductions or fancy words. For those not familiar to the area or the most magical place in the world, it’s located in Bay Lake, Florida. It is the flagship of Disney’s worldwide theme park empire. It opened on October 1, 1971. It is the most visited resort in the world with an estimated 25 million visitors annually.

With Four Major theme parks, and a major shopping center, Downtown Disney, there’s always something to do. There are over 75 attractions within those four major theme parks. Want to see the spooky Haunted Mansion and get your neck hair all electrified? Or experience some of Disney’s most notable and famous characters like Peter Pan? Or Buzz Lightyear? Or the Seven Dwarfs? Then Magic Kingdom is the place to be. It’s dedicated to fairy tells and Disney Characters.  There’s always fun for all ages!!!!

Want to stay close to the Conference and catch some innovation while you have a short break? Then Epcot is the place to be. Whether you want to take a trip to Future world or travel the World Showcase and experience world cultures and live music and celebrations. Then Epcot has it all for the ones who like to explore their mind and the world, present or future. Don’t you think its time to take a trip around the world at Epcot? It’s out of this world!!!There’s a reason why its still as popular as it was on opening day back in 1982.

Disney’s Hollywood Studio, the third of the four parks, is dedicated to show business and drawing inspiration from the 1930’s and 40’s. Don’t recognize the name? Then you’re going to recognize the sorcerers hat, a stylized version of the magical hat from the movie Fantasia starring the most famous mouse on planet earth, Mickey himself. The sorcerer’s hat replaced the Eiffel Tower as the parks icon in 2001 and it was recently removed in January of 2015. Hollywood studios have six different areas Hollywood Boulevard, Echo Lake, Streets of America, Pixar Place, Animation Courtyard and sunset Boulevard. With in this park, there’s always live entertainment, Star Wars weekend is always a popular Attraction in may.   Running Fridays-Sundays throughout June, they feature the 501st legion (a worldwide Star Wars costuming group) parading through the park in Storm trooper costumes, several Star Wars actors appearing each weekend for photos and autographs, Jedi Training Academy classes for younger guests, and other activities.

And finally last but not least Animal Kingdom. It was dedicated and opened to the public on Earth Day, April 22, 1998. It’s the second largest theme park in the world behind Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson New Jersey. It’s the largest Disney theme park in the world covering 500 acres. It holds the distinction of being the first and only Disney Park to be themed entirely around animal conservation, a philosophy once pioneered by Walt Disney himself. Disney’s Animal kingdom is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums, meaning they have met or exceeded the standards in education, conservation and research. The park is represented by The Tree of Life, a sculpted 145 foot tall 50 foot wide artificial tree. Whether you want to take a trip to the Oasis or visit Rafiki’s Planet Watch or go to Dinosaur Land USA, there’s something for any region of the world that will surely inspire you to join the effort in saving the world one animal at a time

So when its time to work and be productive catch the ICMI Conference in Orlando but when its time to relax come join the most magical and happiest place on earth and let your inner kid out again. Because Orlando is the place to be for work or fun, Disney world is definitely the only fun thing you’ll need to experience during the week, don’t miss the fun at ICMI Conference with over 1500 people, 125 speakers at the Dolphin Resort at the magical Disney world May 4th to the 7th.
